Federal Pell Grant
The Pell Grant Program is the largest federal grant program available to undergraduate students who demonstrate financial need. Aid is based on the Estimated Family Contribution and the number of units you are enrolled in.

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)
The FSEOG Program provides additional funding for Pell Grant recipients with uncovered educational costs. The program's funds are offered primarily to students with exceptional financial need who meet priority deadlines.

State Grants #

Cal Grant A
Cal Grant A is not available for Mesa College students unless they are enrolled in the HIM bachelor's program, but can still be applied for if you intend to transfer to a 4-year college. Cal Grant B
Cal Grant B is available to California residents from low-income families and/or disadvantaged backgrounds. The grant will support you with a stipend to help cover living costs and can be carried over should you decide to transfer to a 4-year college. Cal Grant C
Cal Grant C is offered to low- and middle-income students who are enrolled in technical, occupational, and vocational career training programs. For inquiries and additional information about the Cal Grant, visit the Cal Grants webpage.

Student Success Completion Grant (SSCG)
The Student Success Completion Grant offers additional funding for Cal Grant B and Cal Grant C recipients who are full-time students with unmet financial need. Access to aid varies depending on the number of units you are enrolled in. If you are enrolled in 12-14.99 semester units, you are eligible to receive $1,298 per semester. If you are enrolled in 15 or more, you can receive $4,000 per semester. In order to qualify for aid, you must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).

Additional Cal Grant Information
In addition to completing the FAFSA, you will need to submit a Grade Point Average (GPA) Form to the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC). You can visit the California Student Aid Commission websites at www.csac.ca.gov/ to learn more.

Mesa students who are California residents and miss the March 2 deadline can apply by September 2 to receive consideration for competitive Cal Grant awards. Students completing the Dream Act Application must apply by March 2 in order to receive Cal Grant consideration.

California College Promise Grant
Eligible students can receive the California College Promise Grant (CCPG) fee waiver (formerly Board of Governors Waiver (BOGW)), a state-funded program, which will waive the enrollment fees for eligible applicants (Please Note: The health fee will not be waived for most students and parking fees will not be reduced for students receiving the special circumstance CCPG-A). Only California residents can be considered for this waiver.
