Test Accommodations
If you are a student with a disability, you may be eligible for test proctoring services that offer modified timelines and environments to ensure equal testing access. Accommodations will be determined on a case-by-case basis depending on the educational limitations caused by your disability and each test's format.
1. Complete a DSPS Application
If you have not already met with a Disability Support Programs and Services (DSPS) Counselor and had test accommodations approved, you will need to submit a DSPS Application to ensure you are eligible to receive these services.
Get started2. Meet With Your DSPS Counselor Each Semester
To receive proctoring services, you will need to meet with your DSPS Counselor each semester to update the testing accommodations. You will be provided an Authrorized Academic Accommodations (AAA) form. This form lists the accommodations that you will be allowed during the semester as well as the responsibilities you will have to make sure you can continue to receive the support you need.
3. Fill Out The Student Test Proctoring Request Form
If you are a student who would like to use Mesa Test Proctoring Center, you must complete the Student Test Proctoring Request Form at least 5 business days (10 business days for finals) before the course scheduled exam. This form should be completed for each test where you will utilize the Mesa Test Proctoring Center.
Once the Mesa Test Proctoring Center receives the test parameters from the professor, you will be contacted to schedule the test. Please note, late requests are not guaranteed.
Faculty Test Proctoring Responsibilities
Once the student has completed and submitted the Student Test Proctoring Request Form to the Mesa Test Proctoring Center the professor will be notified of the test request and asked to complete the Faculty Request for Test Proctoring.
Professors can securely upload the exam on the Faculty Request for Test Proctoring OR send the exam, instructions, and access codes (if applicable) to MesaTestProctoring@sdccd.edu no later than 1 day before the exam date.
Best practice: Professors should proactively communicate with DSPS students to ask if they plan to utilize the Test Proctoring Center for their exams. Professors can also fill out the Faculty Request for Test Proctoring in advance if they know multiple exam dates & parameters. Professors can use this syllabus statement and canvas announcement template.
