San Diego Mesa College welcomes undocumented students, parents, staff, faculty

a rewarding career, Mesa is the place to make it happen. Follow these 10 steps to get started and begin your higher education journey at Mesa.
1. Submit an Online Application
Our online application is free and open year-round! Mesa uses CCCApply to provide you with a quick and easy way to apply to college.

2. Create and Login to your mySDCCD Portal
You will use your mySDCCD Portal to view your registration date, register for classes, and view important district information.
Create your account*Note, you will need to wait for your application to process before creating a mySDCCD account. Applications can take up to 48 hours to process.
3. Apply for Financial Aid through the California Dream Act
Get help paying for college tuition and fees. Stop by the Mesa College Financial Aid Office (located in the Student Services Center, I4-107) or visit the financial aid webpage to learn more about how you can finance your education.
Discover your options4. Complete the Online Orientation
Learn about our programs, support services, and registration process. We encourage all new students to complete the online orientation to get better acquainted with our campus. Once completed, send your email confirmation to the Assessment Office along with your Mesa Student I.D. number at testing@sdccd.edu.
Access the Orientation5. Take Your Math and English Placement Assessment
Assessment tests help determine which classes you should enroll in.
If you graduated from a US high school within the last 10 years you will receive
your placement levels based on the information you provide in your application (CCCApply).
6. Attend a Pre-Registration Workshop (optional)
There are a variety of forms and petitions that you may need to access to address your academic needs. These include petitions for academic renewal, modifications of graduation requirements, exceptions to the course repetition policy, and more. Speak to a counselor to find the right form for you.

7. Register for Classes
Register and pay for classes through your mySDCCD portal account. Access your portal to keep on top of important admissions dates and deadlines.

Setting Up Your Student Email
Once you register for classes, wait 24 hours, and then you can set up your student email. All important college messages will be sent to this email address.
8. Prepare for Your First Day
Get ready to succeed at Mesa College! Purchase your class textbooks and parking permit (if applicable), and pick up your College Student ID card from the Admissions Office, on the first floor of the Student Services Center (I-400 building).
9. Find Support
Learn more about Mesa's programs and services designed to support undocumented students and those with mixed-status families. Utilize the Your Mesa Journey tool to find additional support that is tailored to your specific background and needs.
